Question: Given eight students, three of which are female, if two students are selected at random, without replacement, what is the probability that both students are female? Edit
Answer: Total no of student=8
You can select 2 students out of 8 students by 8C2 ways= 28 ways
So , if S be the sample space n(S)=28
Now, let E=event of selected 2 students are female
Then n(E)= no of ways of selecting 2 female students out of 3 female students
=3C2=3
So, P(E)=n(E)/n(S)=3/28 (Ans.)
