**Question: **Create a console ‘C’ application to perform the following three input logic functions. Your application should be user friendly.

Logic Functions

OR

NAND

NOR

EXOR

Shift Left

Shift Right

All of the above binary functions has two inputs (AND,OR etc.) except Shift operations and the output must be displayed as binary number format. User could be asked to enter binary numbers to proceed with the specific operation. Error messages may be displayed, if the user enter non-binary values.

Mathematical Equation

Simple correlation function

Following mathematical function, explain the basic correlation function. This function may accept 10 input samples(x1,x2) to produce output. Detail explanations as shown below.

R_12= 1/N ∑_(n=0)^(N-1)▒〖x_1 (n)x_2 (n)〗

Where,

N - Total Number of samples

x_1 - Samples 1

x_2 - Samples 2

n - Integer number

The followings example shows the calculation for the 9 input samples

R_12= 1/9(4×-4+2×1+-1×3+3×7+-2×4+-6×-2+-5×-8+4×-2+ 5×1 ) = 5

Expand the above equation to create a C function, which accept buffer pointers and accept user defined number of samples to deter mine size of the buffer.

Simulating the CPU with 8 bit instruction

Create a function called “void cpu_simulation(unsigned char *PC, unsigned char *memory, unsigned char *run)”, which accept 10 memory buffer pointers, pointer to PC and run. The details description as below.

Following flowchart, illustrate the execution sequence of a CPU instruction. Implement this process in C, within the function call.

Hint: you may use the following memory content to test your program.

The 8-bit instruction format is given as shown in figure1.2 below.

Task2

Simulate Embedded Application using E2Studio

You are been asked to implement a simple 24 hour real time clock application for an Embedded target RX63N. E2Studio is the Integrating Developing Environment (IDE) is used for this development, where the Hardware can be simulated.

Your task is to implement the firmware application using appropriate hardware resources or existing functions available to you and the simulate the application in E2Studio and display the digital clock using Visual Expression, the facility offered by E2studio. The clock display may be as shown in figure below.

This clock may be able set the hour, minute and second parameters using a push button. This configuration is an optional implementation where extra marks will be awarded.
