Question: Name the............. Edit
Answer: There are variety of tools which a mechanical engineer require to perform the day to day functions smoothly, some of them are mention below
1) Computers
Computer is one of the most extensive tool used for mechanical engineering, it helps in designing programs, create models, and drafting diagrams. Also, it is useful to prepare reports, creating graphs and to communicate with the clients. It can be used to store range of data & files which can be accessed easily whenever required
2) Strain Gages
This is one of gadget specially designed for mechanical engineers which helps to measure strains, or the stress for a subjected object. The stress can be produced by different sources like – temperature, pressure, internal forces, or any physical changes in the object. Another use of strain gages is to measure the level at which a material undergo contraction or expansion.
3) Acceleration and Torque Measuring Devices
This is one of the tools which affects the behavior and stability of an object. In mechanical engineering it is widely used to measure the acceleration level. Torque is the level of force applied in twisting manner, for example – encountered on pulleys, drive shafts & similar components. There are certain strain gages which are used to measure the torque as well.
4) Scanning Microscopes and Vibration Isolators
These Isolators prevent the sensitive equipments from the vibrations which are produced through any external forces. Vibrations isolators can be used for designing equipment that are sensitive to vibration, like – lasers and optical measuring devices.
5) Calipers
Is it used to inspect the dimension of the tools & parts used in mechanical engineering?
6) Surface finishes Comparator
A surface finish comparator can be useful to help you decide what surface finish to call out on a part.
7) TI-89
It acts as very helpful calculator for mechanical engineers; it is one of the top ranking graphic calculators
8) TI-36X Pro
It is the scientific calculator approved by NCEES for using on the practice of engineering exams.
9) Feeler Gauge
It is used to measure the width of Gap.
10) Stainless Steel Rule
This is useful for quick measurements or as a straight edge.
