Statistics Help

**Question: **How would you word.. what I did the correct way? Albert said, you don’t know any code at all, and I said, yes I do; and then was trying to confuse me by asking me ‘what language, I coded in’ and then later in how many bits; The question threw me off because it was such a ‘broad’ question I didn’t know if he was asking me what language I coded in, or what language most of the software was programed in; and I was thinking at the very beginning in 1993, my manual had a .asc extension, so I immediately said ascii; where I should have said, ‘ENGLISH’; and then when he asked me again; I tried to explain I wasn’t a tech and wasn’t actually programming in ascii, but what package I was using, produced files in machine language and the earliest versions of my manuals were .asc extensions. I still don’t know if I am technically explaining that correctly but that does not mean that I did not ‘create’ the STAX package, because, ‘I did’. I took COBOL in College, I programmed very little in COBOL in the package, we hired programmers for that. I can code some in dbase, in html, in Cobol, in demoII, in Word, in Excel, etc

I can make a loop however its been 30 years or more that I have needed to do any of this. And NEVER had to explain it to someone technically. I just wrote the stuff. I can’t even remember all that coding I did with the forms, the spaces, and lines, and the 9s and Xs and prens. And making sure that the field names had enough spaces to put the nam in or ssn in or the amount in, I remember counting each character for the 3 columns, I made, pic statements. Wasn’t that ‘code’? or coding? I know I am NOT a programmer never said I was. But it was still MY original expressed creation.. everything you can see. NOT mathematical computations or algoritms and so for. Just the creative stuff.

HOW in the world would you explain that so it makes sense to the court,

Without sounding like babble? I don’t even know the correct lingo.. Never paid

Attention to describing what I was doing.

Isn’t “CODe” telling the program what you want to do, and statements to call modules by the names that have certain routines from start to the eot, like, go to top of record, use custname, addr, ssn etc and add this, subtract that, and then add one to the record til it reaches end of records? Then go to somewhere else? That to me is English. The package then uses the English statements to do the COBOL file it called, or that routine??
