Question: Does Steel Have a 12 co ordinated particle structure? or 8? Edit
Answer: Steel contains iron and carbon so the elements making up stainless steel are iron, carbon, and chromium.
Most steel is predominantly of Body Centered Cubic lattice structures that means 8 coordinated. However these structures can be changed by heating and cooling the steel in particular ways. So it can not be concluded that steel will be only of 8 coordinated structure. Edit
