Answer: Archaeopteryx is considered to be early bird which is the transitional genus between the feathered dinosaurs and the modern birds. It is the link between the dinosaurs and birds as it possesses many features some of which resemble to birds while some to the dinosaurs.
Archaeopteryx has long ascending process of ankle bone like dinosaurs along with other dinosaur-like features such as obturator process fo ischium, interdental plates etc. Edit
