tutor3 : Hello Student, May I help you with your Math problems?
student : Yes please. I have several SAT questions
tutor3 : what is SAT?
student : it's a test designed by College Board to get into college
student : I have math questions from the test
student : Can you help me
tutor3 : yes please ask your question
student : In the sequence below, each term after the first is 7 greater than the preceding term. What is the value of the eighth term in the sequence.
student : Sequence: x, 3x-1, 4x+2,...
tutor3 : ok
student : ...
student : are you still there?
tutor3 : the eight term is coming to 52
student : my answer says 53, but i don't know how to do the problem
student : They gave us an answer sheet
student : how do I do the problem?
tutor3 : please wait for few minutes
student : ok
tutor3 : yes answer is 53
tutor3 : this is how you hav eto do
tutor3 : as in the question it is said that the next term is greater by 7 than the preeciding term
tutor3 : so 3x-1-x=7 so x=4
tutor3 : ut value of x in the sequence and you will get your answer
tutor3 : did you get it??
student : I don't understand the 3x-1-x=7 part. How do you get that?
tutor3 : it is given in the question that after the 1st term the 2nd term is greater than the 1st term by 7
tutor3 : so we subtract
student : ok that makes sense and then to find the 8th term we plug the value into the function?
tutor3 : yes
student : how would that look?
student : x=4 but where does the 53 come from?
tutor3 : yes
student : wait so 4 then 11 then 18 then 25 then 32 then 39 then 46 then 52?
student : I'm not getting 53
student : 46 + 7= 53. Thank-you!
tutor3 : add 46+7=53
tutor3 : Please. tell your parents and friends about our service ..www.tutorteddy.com from AAfter Search
