After 30 kg of water evaporated from a solution of salt and water, which had 15 % of salt,
the remaining solution had 20 % salt. Find the weight of the original solution.

Solution: Let the weight of original solution = x kg.

Therefore, Weight of salt in it is 15 % of x kg

After 30 kg of water evaporated:

The weight of the remaining solution = (x - 30) kg

and, weight of salt in it = 20 % of (x - 30) kg

Since, the total weight of salt in both the cases is same

=> 15 % of x = 20 % of (x - 30)

=> 15/100 X x = 20/100 X (x - 30)

=> (20 - 15)/100 X x = 20/100 X 30

=> 5/100 X x = 6

=> x = 120

Hence, the weight of the original solution is 120 kg
