If the perimeter of a semi-circular protractor is 6 cm, find the diameter of the protractor.

Solution: Let the radius of the protractor be r cm. Then

Perimeter = 66 cm i.e. Π r + 2r = 66

=> (Π + 2)r = 66

=> (22/7 + 2)r = 66

=> 36 r / 7 = 66

=> r = (66 x 7) / 36 = 77/6

=> r = 77 / 12 = 12.83 (approximately)

Hence, the diameter of the protractor is 2 X 12.83 = 25.66 cm
