A's age is six times B's age. 15 years hence, A will be three times as old as B; find their ages.

Solution:

Let B's age = x years; therefore, A's age = 6 x years

15 years hence: A's age will be 6 x + 15 years

and B's age will be x + 15 years

According to the given problem,

6 x + 15 = 3(x + 15)

=> x = 10

Therefore, A's age = 6 x = 6 X 10 = 60 years

and. B's age = x = 10 years
