1. Write the following integers in ascending order : -25,14,0,-18,-14,17,25

Solution: -25 < -18 < -14 < 0 < 14 < 17 < 25

2. Write the following integers in descending order : -9,-23,-11,-43,-4,1

Solution: 1 > -4 > -9 > -11 > -23 > -43

3. Write the value of :

(i) |-23| = 23

(ii) |0| = 0

(iii) - |-3| = - 3

(iv) 8 - |-6| = 8 - 6 = 2

(v) |-3| + |-7| = 3 + 7 = 10

4. State True/False :

(i) The smallest positive integer is 0 => False

(ii) 0 is greater than every positive integer => False

(iii) The absolute value of 7 is -7 => False

(iv) The opposite of -8 is 8 => True

(v) -|-7| = -7 => True
