# Area 4

### From Homeworkwiki

**Problem: A square has a side of length 4 m. Find the area of the**

**circle passing through the vertices of the square.**

**Solution:** Diagonal of the square = diameter of the circle

∴ Diameter of the circle = side of the square × √2

= 4 √2 m

∴ Area of the circle passing through the vertices of the square

= π × (4√2/2)^{2}

=8π square meters.
