### Course Objectives

- Students should become capable of defining functions and doing simple functions like linear and quadratic functions, logarithmic and exponential functions.
- Solving basic algebraic equation.
- Identification of basic properties of functions like continuity, concavity, differentiability and homogeneity.
- Solving elementary matrix operations like matrix addition, multiplication and subtraction.
- Solving systems of linear equations through substitution methods, eliminations through addition method, matrix inverse method and Cramer's Rule.
- Differentiating functions through the use of differentiation rules like sum difference, chain rule etc.
- Performing partial derivatives and implicit differentiation.
- Integrating functions and evaluating definite integrals.
- Calculating interest and solving present value problems.
- Indentifying and characterizing extreme values of multi-variable and single-variable functions.
- Solving constrained and unconstrained optimization problems.
