### Description:

The course focuses on growth of political economy which surfaced from Greek origins in the course of the 20th Century. The course lays special focus on continuity of economic thoughts and their relations to the dynamic socio-political settings. The course also offers particular emphasis on the classical, neo-classical, Keynesian, historical etc and such other schools of thinking.

### Course Objectives:

The course aims to offer students a comprehensive understanding of the growth of economic thought right from the earlier times up to the recent times. It also teaches the theories of major economists ever since Adam Smith. Students are taught how to critically analyze alternative economic theories. When they complete the course, students are familiar with seminal economists and theorists belonging to various schools of economic thought and they can successfully explain their unique features and contributions.
