Overview of the Course

The outline of the course is done in such a way so as to identify and investigate the unique characteristics of non for profit organization and government. It also helps in understanding the difference between the accounting principles of profit organization and non-profit organization. The main aim of this course is develop the accounting understanding of the non for profit organization and government.

Pre-requisite of the Course

The student should have done ACCT 210 and ACCT 220 before getting enrolled in this course.

Outline of the Course

  • Principles of accounting

  • Treatment of accounting entries

  • Preparation of financial statements consists of trading and Profit and loss accounts and balance sheet

  • Concepts of cost accounting

  • Budgeting

Textbooks:

The entire content of the course is divided into lectures, assessment, presentations, online test, and mock papers and final exams. It is mandatory for all the students to go thoroughly through the material provided so as to have good knowledge about the course and also make person able to differentiate between the profit and non- profit organizations.

  • Principles of accounting

  • Homework will be mainly given from the textbooks or handouts.
